Extensive Building and Commercial Renovation – Historic Village Arcade, Tauranga

Our team was contracted to deliver a comprehensive building and renovation project at the iconic Historic Village in Tauranga, focusing on the main arcade structure. This commercial renovation involved upgrading the building to meet current New Zealand Building Code standards while addressing critical structural issues resulting from its original volunteer-based construction prior to the Building Act 1992.

Key elements of the renovation included timber weatherboard recladding, custom corbel replacements, new decking installations at both ground and balcony levels, and window and door upgrades throughout the building. The transformed space is now purpose-built for a public cafe and commercial kitchen, offering a safer and modernised environment within a historically significant setting.
